This project is read-only.

Attempt to write a read-only database

Jan 10, 2012 at 11:44 AM

Hi Just installed Open DBdiff for the first time on a windows 7 64 bit machine - Im accessing one db locally and one on a SQL sever (win 2008) both are SQL 2008 R2 named instances full service packed.  Its version 8.5

When I try to save a new project I get

Attempt to write a read-only database

attempt to write a readonly database

clues please?

I've also posted this as a bug - appologies if this is incorrect

Thank you for taking the time to create issue 14627 (Attempt to write a read-only database) for this problem, and also for posting a workaround. Please try Open DBDiff v0.8.9.4. The problem will still occur if the settings.conf file is under Program Files (there is no setup yet so you'd have to do so manually), but the error message should be improved.

I have closed the issue as a duplicate of issue 13996 (Error compare two databases - after click Compare 2).

Thanks again for your contribution to Open DBDiff!
