Open DBDiff 0.8.5 is a great start for db differencing but does not run as-is on 64-bit machines. Pending patch #6463 should make it compatible with 64-bit machines. Pre-built binaries are included. Download: [- - -] http://opendbiff.codeplex.com/Project/Download/FileDownload.aspx?DownloadId=140954

Great job! I have not had time to evaluate the tool extensively, but it looks very promising. (there was a hiccup with running the binary release on Win7 64bit, but when i rebuilt it from source it worked like a charm). I will certainly be using this tool and (if i'm lucky) will help with the development of the project.

Absolutely brilliant. I have been using DB Comparer for a while, but found it to be buggy. Open DBDiff Is superb. Many thanks.

Most of the point of this (well for me anyway) was to generate change script, however no matter what I did, the stored procedures which had changed were always generated as "Create" and not "Alter". It would also have neen nice to be able select which of the items on the left to generate script from (checkbox or something). Lastly, I couldn't get it to run on 64 bit OS and had to install a vm.

A fantastic tool, excellent for independent developers without the budget for RedGate SQL Compare. OpenDBDiff is the best open source DB schema synchronisation tool out there.

Excellent open source tool.. does the job for free and works on SQL Server 2008 too :-) If only it could give a concise list of objects that are different between the 2 databases that are being compared. Thanks.

Easy to use and works perfect, still have space for improvment but one of my favorites that's for sure.
